Tahany A.
Tahany Azzab is an educator, school leader, professional trainer, writer, and content creator based in Wisconsin, United States. Originally from Egypt, Tahany earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Benha University in 1999. Later that year, she moved to the United States, where she continued to develop her professional career in education, leadership, training, and writing. In 2016, she earned a Master of Education in Administrative Leadership from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 2017, Tahany joined a blended-learning team serving gifted and talented students, where she worked for three years. Through this program, she developed and implemented instructional approaches designed to engage students in higher-order thinking, inquiry, and meaningful learning experiences. She also worked as a curriculum designer and trainer with Milwaukee Public Schools, developing online curriculum and educational materials for advanced learners. From 2020 through 2022, Tahany founded and served as Director of Elmbrook Early Start, a private early childhood education center. In this role, she oversaw educational programming, staff development, curriculum, operations, and family engagement. Tahany currently serves as a school administrator for a Sunday school program providing Islamic education to students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She is also an adjunct instructor in higher education and a professional trainer in Wisconsin, providing training and professional development for educators and individuals pursuing careers in early childhood education. Throughout her career, Tahany has earned professional credentials and licenses in teaching, school administration and educational leadership, early childhood administration, and professional training. Her professional background extends beyond education. She has also received professional credentials in Egypt related to television presenting, journalism, and program production. In addition to her professional work, Tahany has been actively involved in community service and has served in leadership roles within the Muslim community in Wisconsin. She has also participated in literary and cultural organizations that promote writing, poetry, literature, intercultural dialogue, and peace. Writing and Creative Work Writing has always been an important part of Tahany’s life. She writes in both Arabic and English across a wide range of social, educational, cultural, and human-interest topics. Her creative work includes articles, essays, short fiction, true stories, free verse poetry, and personal reflections. Her writing often explores themes of immigration, identity, belonging, human relationships, women’s experiences, resilience, education, and life between cultures. Tahany is the founder of Al-Mastabah, an independent platform created as a space for storytelling, reflection, literature, and discussion of social, cultural, educational, and everyday issues. She has also published her writing through a variety of digital platforms and publications, including Vocal Media, Blogger, WordPress, and other literary and cultural outlets. Through her work as an educator, trainer, and writer, Tahany seeks to connect education with human experience and to use both teaching and storytelling as tools for reflection, dialogue, growth, and positive change.
